Description
This 1874 Steinway is a remarkable instrument. It still has its original keyboard and magnificent rosewood casework. It was restrung and the action has been restored. It plays beautifully and holds tune perfectly at concert pitch. It has the Steinway certification paperwork, and as an antiquity you could call it priceless as it is irreplaceable.
I was a piano technician, tuner, and restorer—I don’t want to part with it, but I now have a Steinway grand (pictured), and I can’t keep both in the apartment.
It also comes with the original antique bench, which has been reupholstered.
I am also able to deliver and retune the instrument in the New York area.
For a 150-years old, it is truly remarkable. The price merely reflects its value as a musical piece, not as an antique.
I had to drop the price as I don’t have room for her any more. I bought a grand and two Steinway’s is one too many.
