Ever wanted KEXP to hear your band’s latest song or the Symphony to fall in love with how you play Mozart? Or perhaps you’ve taken piano for years and have always dreamed about taking center stage. If so, this is the contest for you.

Enter our Facebook video contest between July 17 – August 17 for a chance to perform on Friday, August 22, at the Concerts at the Mural presented by KEXP and Seattle Center. The top five ‘liked’ performances on Facebook will be voted on by a community panel of judges, with the winner selected to perform.

Discover your parks. Play the pianos. Like the Pianos in the Parks’  Facebook page, and then share your performance. Encourage your friends to ‘like’ it, for a chance to win!

You can play your favorite Chopin etude or Scott Joplin ragtime piece, or you and your band can debut an original work, but you can’t enter a cover of any copyrighted music. And if you’re under the age of 13, your parents will have to enter for you.

Full Contest Details and Rules

Judges will be looking for creativity, originality and style, in addition to musicality, so even if you don’t have the chops of a Liberace your rendition of Chopsticks could still win you the prize!

Grab your camera, record your performance and post your entry today!

#muralcontest , on our last day of vacation ( the 18th I think) my wife noticed the pink piano at Westlake....she said entertain the folks, so I did. Only a minute was captured on her phone....we had no idea of the pianointheparks program until after the fact. Very cool idea.
